INTRODUCTION

学院概况

浙江大学农业与生物技术学院成立于1999年7月，源起于1910年创建的浙江农业教员养成所。百年来薪火相传、青蓝相济，始终与民族命运共起伏，为我国农业专门人才培养和农业科技进步作出了应有的贡献。

The College of Agriculture and Biotechnology (CAB) at Zhejiang University was established in July 1999 after four universities in Hangzhou merged to form Zhejiang University in 1998. The history of CAB dates back to Zhejiang Institute for Agricultural Teachers founded in 1910. During the long history over one hundred years, CAB keeps pace with the times and dedicated a lot to agricultural personnel training and agricultural science progress.

学院始终秉承“求实奋进”院训，以培养具有国际化视野的农科拔尖创新型人才为己任，以建设世界一流学院为目标，在学科建设、人才培养、科学研究、社会服务、文化传承、国际合作等方面全面开展积极务实的创新，整体办学实力已跃居国内同类农科院校前列。在全国第四轮学科评估中，园艺学、植物保护均获A+，作物学获A-；园艺学、植物保护入选国家“双一流”建设认定学科；农业科学ESI全球排名达第23位。

Since 1999, with the motto of “Advancing front by Seeking the truth” and the goal of becoming a first-rate college, CAB staffs have been working hard to bring up top innovative talents with international perspective and heighten academic level. After generations of efforts, CAB has created outstanding achievements in discipline construction, talents cultivation, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance and international cooperation, and it has become one of the leading national institutions in agricultural education and research. In the 4th national disciplines assessment 2017, both Disciplines of Horticulture and Plant Protection were rated as A+, and the discipline Crop Science was rated as A-. Moreover, the disciplines of Horticulture and Plant Protection were selected to participate in the national construction plan of Double First-Class initiative. According to the update ESI statistics, CAB of Zhejiang University ranked the 23th in the area of agricultural sciences of the world.

本科生培养

学院现有全日制本科生800余人，拥有优秀的教师队伍、丰富的教学资源、现代化的教学设施，为创新型拔尖人才的培养提供良好的条件。

CAB has over 800 students taking undergraduate degree programs. The excellent faculty, the abundant teaching resources and the modern teaching facilities provide excellent environment for training students with innovations.

学院积极推进本科国际化教育，与多所国际名校达成本科生 “2+2”、“3+X”等联合培养协议；自主设置本科生出国交流奖学金资助学生组团到国际名校从事科研训练。本科生境外交流率达70%。

CAB actively promotes the internationalization of undergraduate education and has undergraduate "2+2" and "3+X" joint training agreements with many top universities worldwide. The Undergraduate Exchange Scholarship founded by CAB financially supports student delegations for overseas scientific research training programs. The overseas exchange rate for undergraduates is approximately 70%.

研究生培养

学院研究生培养秉承“质量为先、导学并重；重构基础、突出现代；反映前沿，交叉综合”的理念，通过推进“优质生源工程、优秀导师工程、优裕科创工程、优化培养工程、优质论文工程”的建设，全面构建研究生培养的新体系，形成创新能力培养的新机制。

Adhering to the idea of “quality foremost, guiding and learning parallel; reconstruction of the foundation as well as highlighting the modernization; and paying special attention to frontier and cross discipline integration”. Our college constructs a new training system for graduate students through the promotion of “excellent students project, outstanding supervisors project, optimization of innovation project, and excellent dissertation project”. Therefore, new mechanisms for the training of the innovation ability among students are established. CAB has been increasingly active in international exchange and cooperation. Each year, there are many foreign students from around the world coming to CAB to pursue their degrees.

EXCHANGE & COOPERATION

交流合作

合作交流渠道不断拓宽，学院先后与美国、英国、德国、日本、韩国、澳大利亚、法国、瑞典及中国台湾、香港特别行政区的许多大学和科研机构建立了长期的合作关系；同时大力引进国际人力资源，推动学科队伍建设，聘请国际知名学者担任长江学者讲座教授、光彪教授、包氏国际基金讲座教授；国际科研合作项目明显增加；教师和学生出国进修、学习和从事合作研究日趋活跃，近三年有300多人次出国交流，接待国外学者来访也达300多人次；先后举办20余次国际会议，并有20余位教师担任国际重要期刊编委，学院学科影响不断扩大。合作与交流步伐的加快，有力地推动了我院人才培养和科学研究的发展。

CAB has been increasingly active in exchange and cooperation and has signed the Inter-Institution Agreement on Exchange and Cooperation with institutions in different countries and regions, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Australia, France, Sweden, Hong Kong and Taiwan of China. For the past three years, over 300 teachers of the college visited overseas institutions, and more than 20 professors served as editors for different reputable international journals. The college hosted more than 300 foreign experts from different countries and successfully organized over 20 international symposiums. Exchange and cooperation has driven the progress of personnel training and scientific research in the college and contributed considerable progress in CAB’s internationalization.
